Contracts and Financials
- Hard Salary Cap: The NAFL has put into effect a hard salary cap during the preseason, regular season and postseason. During this time, no team is allowed to exceed the salary cap, even though the game may allow it.
Teams violating this rule will be warned by the league. If the issue is not corrected by the next league sim, the team will be penalized with a lost draft pick at the Commissioner's discretion. If team still refuses to correct the violation by the following league sim, Commissioners will cut players to rectify the situation and the team's GM will be removed from the league.
- Contract Renegotiations: In addition, beginning with the 2015 offseason, no GM may restructure or renegotiate a player's contract unless that player is in the final year of that contract or is currently holding out.
A GM violating this rule will be penalized with a lost draft pick at the Commissioner's discretion. Repeated violations may result in penalties up to releasing the effected player from the roster or removing the GM from the league.
