Around the League

After several unsuccessful attempts the 49ERS have resigned Pro Bowl linebacker Julian Peterson to a 5 year deal that includes 10 million in a signing bonus. There are also slight ramblings that Antonio Pedigo might lose his starting job to veteran Kevin Barlow. Why? Let’s put it this way...his average yards per carry would indicate that if you gave him the ball 3 times on first and ten he wouldn’t get that next first down...you do the math.

A few teams have inquired about veteran quarterback Jay Feidler from the COWBOYS, but were unable to make a deal because of the positive effect he has had on Seth Alexander.

Head coach Chester McKenzie is also said to be displeased with Pro Bowl kicker Billy Cundiff, who has missed 3 of the last 5 field goal attempts.

Andre Johnson from the TEXANS has been showing the staff how he is

Still a Top receiver after coming back from a Torn Patellar Tendon that kept him out of play and practice for 29 weeks.

There are whispers that the SAINTS are currently seeking a replacement for 14 year veteran Joe Horn. There are also reports that the

Head coach Vinny Williams is unsatisfied with the play of the offensive line thus far, but plans no changes for the immediate future.

Plans no changes to it in the immediate future. Prior rumors that the JETS were inquiring about Julius Jones have been squashed after they traded a fourth round pick with the REDSKINS for veteran Clinton Portis. They are extremely satisfied with the play of veteran Josh McCown and plan to give him a contract extension in the near future.

Derrick Brooks of the BUCCANEERS has finally ended his contract holdout and will probably retire this offseason. They also signed veteran QB Kurt Warner of the BENGALS, reportedly for a first and third round pick...change in gameplan? Rookie Zach Palmer must give them a lot of confidence after they won their first game all season with him under center. Speaking of young QBs, Anes Curt of the LIONS who was believed to be losing his starting role any minute now has turned some heads as he threw for 3 touchdowns this past week, keeping the starting role away from first overall pick Gerald Meeber. The CHEIFS are in a bit of a pickle, in their win over the STEELERS, they lost two starters to injury. WR Ike Hilliard and TE Kris Wilson, and have their other WR Terry Glenn out also. The Steeler Nation is being to get restless after a 1-2 start, Alonzo Jackson the starting linebacker suffered a sever hamstring pull and won’t be able to return until the end of the season.

Terrell Ragland, the starting FB for the CARDINALS suffered a ruptured elbow tendon that will sideline him until next season. There is news that Tom Brady the PATRIOTS QB has had some words to say about their starting RB Cedric Cobbs, and this ongoing fued is one of the focal reasons for the rough start so far. League Officals are looking into possible steroid use and distribution dealing with the FALCONS, no one was available for comments. The RAVENS have hinted that heading into next year facing certain cap problems, there will be a few long time veterans who will be on the trading block. We suspect WR Laveranues Coles and T Corwin Krzys will be two of them. The management has been “extremely pleased” with the development overall pick number one Richie Jeffries has shown so far in the season, who is quickly emerging as a young star. They are also very satisfied with their offseason pick-ups Charles Woodson and Antonio Pierce, who have integral to their success so far.
